IMWG for Spatial
Planning |
VisionSustainable municipal spatial development based of the policy of European integration, inter-municipal linkages and regional cooperation. The initial assumption is that Serbian municipalities, through a coordinated planning system with related institutions, can support the European integration of Serbia.
Spatial plans are a
precondition for inter-regional linkages to be established. In addition
spatial plans are one of the indispensable instruments to take full
advantage of the opportunities of this process.
With planning solutions the municipalities would draw attention to their
position in Serbia, and plans, once adopted, would become starting points of
future Strategy of spatial development of Serbia. Mission
The Inter-Municipal Working Group for Spatial Planning (IMWG-SP) will foster advancement towards:
Objectives
IMWG-SP with its activities will help municipalities to adopt efficient, viable and realistic plans based on real economic capacities and on implementation agreements as the way of priorities making and implementation urging.
It will also promote the
principles of sustainable development and planning instruments that promote
environment protection and harmonization of civil, public and private
sectors in the process of planning and adoption of plans. Activities
IMWG-SP contribution will primarily by consultations, advice, assistance, work methods coordination and work on plans contents.
