The Steering Committee (SC) is the overall strategic guiding organ of MSP. MSP-PSU will carry out the function of the secretariat of the SC.

The main functions are:

  • ascertaining that programme implementation contributes to the general policy discussion in Serbia in the fields of municipal development and management;

  • linking between programme and political / administrative levels and feeding of new and promising results of the programme into the political discussion and administrative procedures as well as linking to the national reform agenda;

  • ascertaining programme implementation in accordance with the general goals, objectives and budget as outlined in the programme documents by means of periodical assessment of programme achievements and (political) intervention when required; approving the MSP's Yearly Plan of Operation (YPO) and Half Yearly and Annual Reports;

  • defining and approving amendments to the organisation, objectives and strategy of programme implementation

Additional non voting persons may be invited on request of the Steering Committee members or deputed from the head office of SDC Berne (e.g. a representative of the governance section) to participate at Steering Committee meetings.
